Faustson<\/a>, a worldwide leader in the machining industry, emerged as the winner in the inaugural Colorado Manufacturing Awards\u2019 contract manufacturing category<\/a>. CompanyWeek noted that this, of the 10 categories the awards took nominations for, was the most difficult to judge.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf food and beverage has become Colorado\u2019s national manufacturing calling card, its Contract Manufacturing sector, today boasting world-class advanced fabricators in technology sectors like aerospace and bioscience, may be its future,\u201d wrote CompanyWeek Founder Bart Taylor. \u201cMetal 3D printing innovator Faustson Tool and its blue chip roster of clientele emerged in a close vote.\u201d<\/p>\n

The awards<\/a>, organized and presented by CompanyWeek and Manufacturer\u2019s Edge with CACI, the Colorado Chamber of Commerce, named 10 winners at an event last week from three nominees in each of 10 categories<\/a>. The theme for this year was \u201cCompetitiveness,\u201d with a goal to recognize market-leading, uber-competitive companies building a sustainable competitive edge. Companies transforming industries with products, process, vision, leadership, workforce, strategy, or anything that gives them an edge.<\/p>\n

Nominees were evaluated on criteria that included business performance, product or process excellence, innovation, employee involvement, and culture. Other category winners included Modular Electronics in Aerospace & Electronics; Voormi in Lifestyle & Consumer; Mountainside Medical in Bioscience & Medical; Fresca Foods in Food & Beverage; Ska Brewing in Beer & Brewing; Colorado Malting Company in Supply Chain; Vestas in Energy & Environment; Faustson client Woodward in Industrial; and RK in Build Environment.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was an honor just to be nominated in such an aggressive and competitive category, but a complete shock, and one we were humbled by, to win,\u201d said Faustson Vice President Heidi Hostetter. \u201cWe have always had the mantra that we need to be the \u2018Ritz\u2019 of our industry and we will continue to carry that mantra out.
