Denver, CO \u2013The Colorado Manufacturing Awards (CMA), presented by <\/span>CompanyWeek<\/span><\/i><\/a> and <\/span>Manufacturer\u2019s Edge<\/span><\/a>, has opened nominations for its 4th annual program, culminating in an awards reception and presentation on April 4, 2019 in Denver, Colorado at the Cable Center on the University of Denver campus. Nominations close Friday, February 15, 2019. <\/span><\/p>\n

The CMAs recognize outstanding manufacturing companies across 12 industries and the supply chain. The program is co-presented by <\/span>CompanyWeek<\/span><\/i>, digital media and events focusing on manufacturing, and Manufacturer\u2019s Edge (the NIST Manufacturing Extension Partner in Colorado). Three finalists from each industry category will be celebrated throughout March and winners announced at the April 4 event.<\/span><\/p>\n

CompanyWeek<\/span><\/i> founder and co-presenter Bart Taylor has first-hand knowledge of many of the manufacturers across Colorado through the publication\u2019s editorial work. \u201cFor us, it\u2019s a culmination of a year of reporting on manufacturing companies and the great people of the sector,\u201d said Taylor. \u201cThe awards are as much about celebrating the collective accomplishments of the community as they are of exemplary individual performance. That said, it\u2019s impossible not to be blown away by some of the work being done. I\u2019ve said this before: it\u2019s a sector alive with possibilities.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe manufacturing sector here is highly underrated,\u201d he added. \u201cIt\u2019s also a model for how U.S. manufacturing will develop in the future \u2013 innovation and growth across a number of industries. Many have deep roots right here \u2013 like the natural food ecosystem and aerospace community \u2013 industries that promise considerable growth.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The CMAs have tapped into Colorado\u2019s robust network of industry trade and support groups to reach out to companies and participate in programming. \u201cThe trade associations do such great work, so it\u2019s been great to work with them to recognize the great companies that comprise their memberships,\u201d explained Manufacturer\u2019s Edge CEO Tom Bugnitz. \u201cThe companies have something in common \u2013 they all have great employees and make great products \u2013 and we\u2019ve tapped into the shared experiences and challenges that all manufacturers have, regardless of industry.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

At its heart this is about \u00a0bringing the community together and celebrating Colorado manufacturing\u201d Bugnitz said. \u201cThe program is a win for everyone, especially the nominees and winners, and really highlights the Colorado way of collaboration, sharing, and innovation.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
